In 19th Century Amiel had said, ‘The test of every religious, political or educational system‘ is the man it forms. If a system injures the intelligence, it is bad. If it injures the character it is vicious. If it injures conscience, it is criminal.
Since it was founded(1st March 1939), Gharshala has been doing these. It has been nourishing intelligence, character and conscience. It has been giving abundance of creativity and constructive space to grow. Visionary educationist Late Shree Harbhai Trivedi founded it to engineer good citizens. Since then it has been contributing outstanding intellegentia to the society. Today, there is a world wide family of ‘Gharshala’ as Ex students are our assets. For us our students is nothing but the ‘Extension and Expansion of the ideology called Gharshala.’ Now Gharshala is an Attitude and Identity, It is a flavour of a life style. We want to take the lead in leading the young generation of today and tomorrow towards better future. We had also done it successfully in the past. We will walk with them, hand in hand.
You know very well that the institute which does not remain relevant to contemporary time and society, goes into the bracket. As every institute is answerable to its people. Though it was a revolutionary move to introduce co education in The 19th century, but Gharshala did it. It has always functioned as a bridge in between dream and destination of it’s time and aspirations of the students.
Even today it has accepted the challenges of transitional time of the developing nation. There are two dimension of today’s challenge :
- Gharshala has to preserve and protect the core sentiments, memories, traditions and values of it’s glorious history. But yes, without making it a dead museum of it’s own past. As any institute must have throbs and pulsations.
- Gharshala has to address today and tomorrow with dedication and determination. It has to give update infrastructure as per the demands of the time. It is must to create better ambience for better education. It will facilitate the remaining journey of 25 years to reach the centenary year gloriously.
Gharshala assures all its good – wishers that it will not compromise in its core values and wisdom. But surely it will be an update version to meet the fresh perceptions of today’s generation. You know, it is democratically managed by it owns alumnus. So, Trustees are none other than the students. So it will be like working together for better tomorrow. It is an invitation to all… Let’s move a step ahead…. It is an effort today for better tomorrow…
It is being said that success is not final, failure is not fatal : It is the courage to continue that counts…
